WE NEED PROTECTION FROM POLICE - KWAEBIBIREM CHIEF

Chief of Akyem Asuom at Kwaebibirem District in the Eastern Region, Osabarima Ofosuhene Appenteng ll has made a passionate reguest to the Inspector General of Police to provide patrol
vehicles for police personnel in the area to ensure them fight against activities of thieves and other criminals who have taken over their communities.

According to Nana, lack of logistics for officers to discharge their duties impedes their effort to protect lives and property and also endanger their lives in their bid to combat crime.
He said though there is only one patrol vehicle in the community, it is operational during the day, and so the nefarious activities of the evil doers gain grounds at night.

The intermittent appearance of the police patrol team also gives them reason to worry.
Osabarima Ofosuhene made the appeal during the commission of a new police station at Akyem Asuom.
Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Tema West Carlos Ahenkorah who was at the commission urged the officers to adopt a culture of maintenance to enable the building last longer.
He warned the ruling government not to list the building in their green book as one of their achievements.
