Anthony
Karbo was of a strong view that the EC is an institution mandated by the
constitution of the land and so, can't assume a position bigger than
the laws of the country.
The country's apex
court presided by the Chief Justice Georgina Wood has ordered the
Electoral Commission to feed the court with the names of National Health
Insurance Scheme card (NHIS) registrants in the voter's register and
further provide the steps that the Commission will adopt to delete the
names.
The court ruling comes as a result of
the failure of the EC to
expunge the names of the NHIS registrants after the court directed it to ensure that the names are removed from the register months ago.

The EC is supposed to carry out the order by June 29, 2016.
Commenting
on the issue on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, he stressed that "the Supreme
Court is the highest court of the land and the court of the land has
spoken…You can’t have an institution created out of the constitution.
All of sudden, that institution assumes powers that’s so powerful than
the constitution of this land. It’s impossible. It’s impossible."
Karbo
further stated emphatically his commitment to the country transcends
his love for even his wife and so advised stakeholders in the election
process to put the interest of Ghana first.
“The
NPP will not bother its time, energy; going to the Supreme Court again.
We will not. This year’s election is a people’s election. 2016; this
election is bigger than the New Patriotic Party. It is bigger than Nana
Akufo-Addo. And everybody as stakeholder in this issue, we must love
Ghana than we love our parties. I love this country than I love my wife.
I love it than I love my party . . . because without Ghana, I can’t
have a wife.
"..people must know that this
year’s election is not an election of the NPP and the NDC, and we in the
NPP are not in election with the EC.”
