A 28-year-old man was nearly lynched by residents at Kasoa American down in the Central region for butchering his step mother to death.
The suspect, Abdulai Kasim, according to reports,
stabbed his step mother Azumi Kasim to death after she refused to give
him sachet water to drink.
The angry man also inflicted
cutlass wounds on his younger brother,
Nurudin Kasem who tried to stop him from cutting his 28-year-old step mother into pieces.

DSP Florence Annaman in charge of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) confirmed this unfortunate news to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei
Friday.
She noted that, the police had to rescue the suspect from the angry mob who nearly beat him to death.
DSP Annaman added that, Abdulai Kasim is currently on admission at Kasoa Poly Clinic for medical attention.
Brother
of the suspect, Karim Kasim on Adom News said he is not surprised at
the conduct of Abdulai since “he is a threat to society”.
He
explained that Abdulai who is an ardent user of marijuana has threatened
several times to kill their step mother but when arrested by the
police, he is released.
“My brother will behave like a mad
person when he is arrested so the police are also left with no other
option than to release him” he bemoaned.
Karim Kasim pleaded with the police to ensure the suspect is processed for court and jailed for the heinous crime.
Meanwhile,
the body of his step mother has been deposited at the Winneba
government hospital morgue whiles his younger brother is still at the
emergency ward of the same hospital.
